Honda is refreshing its Accord range of cars so as to make them affordable for budget buyers.
The VTi is the entry level variant available from the automaker brand which has an official price tag of $32,990.
Compared to the other model named the VTi-L, the new cheaper Accord VTi is a solid $11,000 less making it easy to access for most buyers. The facelifted version of the car is all set to hit stores in Australia. The front fascia still uses the same solid wing face known for its muscular appearance. It was already used in the Civic and is being adopted in the Accord range of cars as well. The entry level variant of the car is powered by a 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine which is performance friendly yet fuel efficient at the same time.
The Accord has received significant upgrades in its infotainment system and connectivity area. It is now equipped with the Advanced Display Audio. The car now supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity options on all three trim levels. With most people owning either an Android smartphone or an iOS phone, it has become mandatory for every auto manufacturer to support these functionalities in their respective cars. They are no longer provided as an add-on but rather integrated by default in all base models.
New driver assist technology powers the refreshed Honda Accord cars. They are part of the Honda Sensing package which includes a reversing camera which can cover multiple angles at once and has Lane Watch feature. As part of the sensing program, the car is equipped with collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation and lane keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control is another feature which is part of the package.
A brand new grille combined with redesigned headlights and all-new front, rear bumpers are used in the 2017 edition of Accord. New wheel design is implemented in the VTi, V6L along with LED fog lights for driving in varied climatic conditions. Apart from the available range of colors, Accord has added a brilliant sport blue to its color palette.
“We have a very strong customer base. Honda Accord is popular among a large group of people and by offering a new base line model, we intend to reach them all at once. The pure combination of the best of styling, performance and pricing is sure to help the brand reach places to the prestigious sedan customers,” said Stephen Collins, Director of Honda, Australia.
