The South Korean automaker Hyundai has been reportedly making plans to pave the way for its product launch strategy for 2017 in the Indian market starting with the facelifted version of the Grand i10 facelift.
The company has already started to test the Grand i10 facelift and test creations under camouflage were recently snapped in Chennai, India. Previously, the automobile maker had unveiled the pictures of the new Grand i10 in the UK and now it is all set to mark its debut in India in January 2017.
There have been reports circulating which have confirmed the launch of the renovated Grand i10 in January 2017. The revamped version of the new Hyundai i10, which was first unveiled for the European market in August this year will now feature a complete shift in the design for the Indian market. The Grand i10 facelift will now arrive with a younger simulation featuring many cosmetic upgrades. The hot hatchback will arrive with several changes to the exteriors and a few changes to the interiors.
Though it will not be a smoking gun replica of the UK-spec variant, the Grand i10 is expected to take a lot of cues from it for launch in India.
Though the basic design of the car remains almost the same, the Grand i10 facelift will now feature a younger stance that will be highlighted by a few changes in the front. A new hexagonal grille called as the Cascading grille, which will be characterized by its flowing line that is curved will now become the new identity for all the upcoming Hyundai models in the future. The new Grand i10 will also wear a redesigned front bumper that comes with a set of new, round, and unconventional LED daytime running lights that have been positioned on both the sides of the grille at its top edges.
The hatchback has also been tweaked to have a beefed up bumper design at the rear which will have a thick black inlay. The rear sporty fog lamps are also round shaped to complement the change in the design of the front headlights. The side moldings have also been redesigned along with the new diamond-cut alloy wheels that will be rounding off the refreshed profile of the new Hyundai Grand i10.
The inside cabin of the facelifted Grand i10 comes with an array of new feature updates that include a new infotainment system with a touchscreen display. There will be options for advanced connectivity, and also enhanced safety features that will be available for the higher variants of the Grand i10. The interiors will come in an all-black or an-blue colored scheme, apart from the upholstery made from rich leather. The Euro-spec model of the Grand i10 had a new 7-inch touch screen system that features CarPlay from Apple, Android Auto and navigation facilities.
Under The Hood
On the mechanical front, the Grand i10 will probably remain untouched in the new version. Currently, the new Hyundai Grand i10 petrol variant is powered by a Kappa engine of 1.2 liters capacity which can produce a power of 82 bhp and a torque of 116 Nm, whereas the diesel variant of the car carries a 3-cylinder U2 VGT motor engine of 1.1 liters capacity that churns out a power of 70 bhp and a torque of 163 Nm.
Hyundai, the second largest carmaker in India, will be launching the Grand i10 in a tug-of-war opposing the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo, and Tata Tiago.
