I guess it all comes down to how you define your name on a bill. Being one of 94 co-sponsors on legislation in support of using sunscreen or flossing daily is hardly McCain-Feingold or Dodd-Frank Finance Reform. You can also pad the number by counting every amendment you enter even if it has no chance of passage.

I saw Fiorina’s ad and thought it was hilarious. While watching it, it occurred to me that there are never any women with their names on the top line of any “Major” pieces of legislation. Hey, I can be convinced. Post a list of major legislation where it is named after a female senator and I’ll reconsider.

Boxer-Smith is border line at best – who is going to be against $400 million to fight tuberculosis? The only question is how much money will be approved and not whether it will pass or not. It also has to be something that needed a fighting champion to drive it through the senate. Amendments to other people’s bill don’t count either.

From my seat, the only effective female senator I’ve ever seen was Sec. Hillary Clinton. The Maine twins of Sen. Snowe and Sen. Collins on most days are the only voices of reason coming out of the Republicans. Sen. Feinstein has her strong days, but none of the rest would be what I would consider strong leaders.

You have to admit the “empty pants suits” was a really funny line.

what do you thing of WFC's following comments?
" In the U.S. Senate, Barbara Boxer is the first female Chairwoman of the Environment and Public Works Committee and simultaneously, Chair of the Select Committee on Ethics, making her the only Senator in charge of two committees at the same time. Also, a quick online search reveals that, in the current Congress alone, Boxer’s name is on over 500 pieces of legislation, including an international effort to combat HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, and an important taxpayer protection amendment to the Wall Street Reform bill." ???

While I didn't always agree with Sec. Clinton's politics, she was a hard working Senator who clearly represented the folks in NY well.

You are right on about Hillary and her effectiveness. My friends in upstate NY really miss her as Senator. Nobody worked harder or knew more than Hillary Clinton.
